Blackwater disposal at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (UCB)
Recently, the kick-off meeting for the blackwater disposal at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld took place as part of the RUN project. Blackwater, which according to ISO 6107-7:1997 is “domestic wastewater containing fecal solids – excluding graywater”, from a student residence, is routed to the RUN container where it is processed with shredded biowaste to produce three recyclables, namely bioplastics, bio-fertilizer, and biochar. We are excited to be a part of the RUN project and look forward to the milestones ahead.
