Since October 2012, IWR GmbH has been responsible for providing technical support to wastewater treatment plant Ahnatal in the operation of its wastewater treatment facilities. First tasks consisted in the start-up and the site acceptance test of the newly built chemical precipitation unit. Furthermore, a profitability calculation was able to show that the replacement of the blowers for the grit trap and the aeration tank would save significant amounts of electricity. Now our contract has been extended for six months. Upcoming tasks comprise the creation of an investment plan and a sewer flushing plan, the implementation of necessary measures regarding explosion protection at the wastewater treatment plant and the collaborative development of a concept for sewage sludge disposal.
