In Böblingen Dagersheim, the possible drainage of development area ‘Östlich der Waldstraße’ via a pneumatic sewer system was analysed by the Fraunhofer-Institut. IWR GmbH and Gera-based engineering office Köhler have been tasked by Stadtwerke Böblingen with the design of the pneumatic system. The experience of both companies regarding vacuum drainage played an important role in the client’s decision. The project kick-off meeting took place in December 2012, and in January 2013, IWR informed local residents about the specific qualities of pneumatic sewer systems at a citizens’ assembly. We are looking forward to a successful cooperation with all parties involved.
