Modern PV system on Sindelfingen screw lift
Two photovoltaic systems were installed at the Böblingen-Sindelfingen wastewater treatment plant, one above the screw lift and a second on the directly adjacent roof. a second on the directly adjacent company building. The client is the Eigenbetrieb Stadtentwässerung Böblingen (SEBB).

Total output of 30 kWp
The PV modules were mounted on amounted on a removable steel structure. This means that the superstructure of the structure, including the PV system, can be dismantled by crane for maintenance work if necessary and stored on the side of the site. A total of 30 or 36 modules with 455 Wp each are used, which corresponds to a total installed output of 30.03 kWp. The inverters are rated at 12 kW or 15 kWp.

Location of the PV system on the screw lift
The plant is expected to generate around 33,923 kWh of electricity per year. This means that 16% of the lift’s electricity requirements can be covered directly on site. Battery storage is not planned. Completion took place in December 2025.
IWR GmbH was responsible for the planning and construction supervision.
