Gloves on, pliers out: Well organized and safe on the go
The IWR GmbH team took part in the city-wide garbage collection campaign “Kölle putzmunter”. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags and tongs, they went along the Rhine to paths, grass verges and squares – for more cleanliness and quality of life in our immediate surroundings. Thanks to good preparation, everything went smoothly: the meeting point, route and collection points for the filled bags were agreed in advance. AWB Cologne provides materials for “Kölle putzmunter” and collects the filled bags from agreed public locations – a service that makes civic engagement particularly easy. Our team also paid attention to nature conservation: bushes and sensitive areas were deliberately avoided.
Strong commitment, visible success!
Our campaign had an impact – the difference was clearly visible after a short time. Particularly positive: some passers-by were quickly infected and collected
Our highlights in brief:
- Participants: 8
- Route: From the Tanzbrunnen to the Claudius Therme
- Yield: approx. 5 bags full of broken glass, butts, drinks cans etc.
- Curious finds: A well-preserved DVD with packaging, a vehicle registration certificate part I and two sacks of potatoes
Thanks to all contributors
A big thank you goes to all IWR participants, to AWB Cologne for their support and to everyone who helped or motivated along the way. Such assignments show: Responsibility starts on your own doorstep – and it’s easier together.
