Training successfully completed: Lena Unger is a DWA-certified specialist planner for heavy rainfall prevention
Our project manager Lena Unger successfully took part in further training to become a “DWA-certified specialist planner for heavy rainfall prevention”. The qualification was certified by the DWA. In-depth specialist knowledge was imparted, not only on the planning and implementation of measures to protect against heavy rainfall events, but also on the identification of risks and the overall municipal organization in the context of the challenge of heavy rainfall.
Flood protection in practice: rules, models, maps
Topics covered in the training included technical regulations for flood protection, hydraulic dimensioning and verification criteria, the application of urban water management models (hydrodynamic sewer network models, 2D surface models) and an introduction to flood testing in accordance with DWA-A 118 and DIN EN 752. In this context, the agenda also included the implementation of flow path analyses and the creation of hazard and risk maps. Last but not least, concepts and measures from the main topic of water-sensitive urban development were presented and underpinned by practical examples: always from an overall municipal perspective with the aim of integral action.
Assessment, concept and action planning: support for your municipality
With the specialist knowledge she has acquired, Lena is qualified to support you and your municipality in dealing with heavy rainfall events: from risk assessment to the identification of action plans and the planning of specific technical measures. We are delighted to have Lena Unger in our ranks as a qualified specialist planner who will make an important contribution to climate-resilient urban development.
